Does anyone know if dead sea salt really helps skin conditions like eczema?

I have Keratosis pilaris (a form of eczema) and I've been trying to find something to treat it. I've seen a lot of sites that sell dead sea products, they say it helps by cleaning out the skin follicles. What I'm wondering is if any type of sea salt really helps or if the companies lie to sell their products like most people do? I'm sure someone here has some experience with this type of thing and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if dead sea salt really helps skin conditions like eczema?
not sure if it helps eczema but i have a body lotion that contains dead sea salt that does wonders for the skin.i am not one to fall for the middle of the mall kiosks where the employee throws their product at you but this one is truly amazing...the name of the line is called SEACRET... www.seacretspa.com they also have mud masks and sea salts
Reply:Ok, well I had it on the back of my legs for like 2 years (Til I finally went to the dermo and got it cleared up!) and whenever I got my pedicure they would use sea salt. Let me tell ya, putting an abrasive on raw skin is NOT a good idea! I have such scarring now (tho I have been assurred I am the only one that notices) that it is not worth it. Try the dermotologist. It can be inexpencive and sometimes a cream will work. (mine gave me lots of trial sizes of what I needed and it dint cost me anything but the office visit)
Reply:No dead sea salt is not a remedy for eczema. Some of the tar floating along the shores of the dead sea is thought to have curative effects to inflammatory skin ailment but not the salt.
Reply:My 6 year old daughter suffers from eczema severely and we have tried that paticular product. Unfortunately, we had no such luck with it. Not even so much as an inkling of help. What i have found works is an oatmeal bath with some baking soda and eucerin cream and lots of it. Cleaning the skin follicles isn't going to help as with eczema you are dealing with dry skin. So exfoliating the skin isn't good. Try using ivory soap. It works wonders. If it is really bothersome hydrcortisone cream is awesome. If you suffer from it severly, like my daughter, you may need a steriod cream, like elidel. Good luck and i hope you can get some relief from the eczema.
Reply:My friend has tried everything on earth but his wife's eczema is not cured.

If dead sea salt can cure it would be dead with out the salty water and wiould be bare by now.
Reply:Couldn't you just scrape at it till it finally goes away?
Reply:I also have eczema all over my body. There is no treatment for eczema. I just apply vaseline on my body daily to keep my skin moisturized. It'll automatically go away once you get older.
Reply:I Know lots of people that have had eczema really bad,and have tried EVERYTHING, only to have nothing really work.

Anyone from 3 years old to 80 years old.
