Can any breed of dog suffer with skin conditions?

Yes all dogs, of all breeds can get skin problems.

And yes, cross-breeds can get them too. The truth is cross-breeds are as likely, if not more likely to get them as they can easily get the 'problems' from both breeds.

Anything with skin can!
Reply:Most def. esp dogs who are primarily white such as American Bulldogs. Allergies etc are hereditary so breeding an affected dog is not recommended.
Reply:Yes, all skin is prone to infections. I am not a vet but am a registered breeder of Rottweilers.

There are so many skin conditions out there that they could get such as yeast, fungus, mites, mange, fleas allergies,.... The list goes on and on.
Reply:Yes, of course, mostly caused by either allergies, or parasites.
Reply:Yes!

Some can be dangerous, some are not harmful at all. Good Luck!
Reply:Yes but some breeds are more predisposed to skin problems than others.
Reply:Yes. Some are genetic due to poor breeding such as my shih tzu. Some are from owner neglect of hygiene and grooming. Some are from allergies; environment, food. Some from flea bites. Some auto-immune like my shih tzu. Even the best bred dog can have skin problems not due to owner neglect. Anything with skin can have skin problems.
Reply:ANY breed of dog or anything indeed with skin can get skin conditions, some dog breeds such as shar pei's are genetically prone to get them because of the wrinkles on the skin, however any dog can get things such as mites, and mange, and flea allergies.

Reply:Yes, mostly. Pure breeds can espeially get skin problems as they only have 1 breed's worth of genes to fight it off with. Cross breeds are less likely to get any type of infection.
Reply:yes any can get allergies but some breeds are more prone than others
Reply:Yep, some more that others. The dog's diet can have a huge impact on the condition of their skin and coat.
