Skin conditions?

Has anyone heard of a skin condition called urticaria? I have it and i was just wondering how many other people on here have it too... I'm sorry if im being nosy or anything. I was just wondering how bad your personal case was and what you personally do to treat it... i'm sorry. please answer my question! THANKS! %26lt;3

Skin conditions?
I have had urticaria for about 6 months now, no cause has been found. I also get angioedema, which causes my eyes and lips to swell up.

When it first started it was really bad. My whole body was covered in massive, raised, red patches, that were really itchy and sore. I also got the angioedema on my face, and my hands and feets swelled up so much the skin started to break.

I was initially prescribed a non drowsy anti-histamine, and had loads of bloods taken, which were all normal. Then a couple of weeks later I ended up in hospital as I was also having breathing difficulties. I was given IV Prednisolone (steroid) and an anti-histamine, and was able to go home the same day. I was also prescribed atarax for the itching and my anti-histamine was changed to Fexofenadine.

It has gradually got better since then, and now I only get the odd rash, which usually clears up in a couple of days.

I hope yours gets better soon.

Take care, Mel.
